Every year, hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers apply for government-subsidized housing units that they’re not eligible for. PPL partnered with the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development to create communications to better inform and connect New Yorkers to relevant affordable housing opportunities.
The Outcome
We worked together with agency staff, housing developers, community-based organizations and everyday New Yorkers, to develop new informational materials about the NYC affordable housing process. Crucially, we also designed three new community-based, public/private distribution channels for New Yorkers to access affordable housing information in the context of their daily lives.
