The Project
NYC Department of Education family assistants provide the crucial service of conducting intake for families living in shelter. However, family assistants do not always have the tools to most effectively conduct intake. We worked with the DOE to design an upgraded workflow for family assistants, allowing them to better capture essential data, improve family support, and build new skills.
The Outcome
We designed a digital intake and data collection tool for family assistants. The tool offers a user-friendly interface, an easy way to continue incomplete intakes, and an organized way to capture data. We also provided recommendations around role workflows, troubleshooting, decision processes, and mentoring responsibilities.
