Scaling Supervised Release for Individuals Facing Trial

How might we improve the organizational design of a rapidly growing social work team?

Partners & Funders

The Project

As New York City has expanded alternatives to being held in jail while awaiting trial, the supervised-release team at the Center for Justice Innovation has seen rapid growth. PPL worked with CJI social workers and clients to identify ways to sustainably expand the supervised-release program while meeting staff, client, and community needs.

The Outcome

We developed design concepts aimed around new hire onboarding, case distribution, and ongoing operational processes. Each concept included an implementation guide and a minimum viable product that could be implemented almost immediately.
